DON JUAN AVILA MIDDLE SCHOOL

This course focuses on the study of plate tectonics and the Earth's structure; shaping the Earth's surface; heat and thermal energy; energy in the Earth's systems; ecology (life sciences); natural resources; and investigation and experimentation using the scientific process. Sixth grade science is often taught as part of an integrated math/science core. The course also provides instruction on family life (human development and reproduction) and preview materials are made available to parents in the spring of the sixth grade year.
