Independent PE (IPE) Application Instructions
Applications for Independent PE (IPE) are now open for the 2026–2027 school year. The deadline to submit a completed application is August 8, 2026. IPE is available to students in Capistrano Unified School District who meet eligibility criteria in their sport. This program is designed for high-level athletes, and all guidelines and requirements must be met and submitted at the time of application. Approval is required before a student can participate.Step 1: Parent Completes the Application
- Fill out and digitally sign the IPE application form.
- Submit the form to your student’s non-CUSD coach or athletic trainer.
Step 2: Coach/Trainer Completes Their Section
- The coach or trainer adds required information and verifies the student’s training.
- The form is then submitted to the student’s school site for review.
Step 3: School Site Review
- The school site reviews eligibility, including grade level and whether the sport meets IPE criteria.
- The site approves or denies the application. If approved, it is forwarded for final processing.
Step 4: Final Approval and Enrollment
- South County Virtual Academy (SCVA) completes final approval and enrolls the student in IPE.
- Families will be notified once enrollment is confirmed.
