Bronco Pride

Don Juan Avila Middle School is pleased to announce it will be distributing “Bronco Pride” awards to outstanding students at DJAMS.  The awards will recognize both academic accomplishments as well as school and community service efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for your child's achievements to be recognized.   Please read through the packet explaining the process and deadline.  The awards will be distributed during the 4th quarter.  If you have any questions or comments about the awards please contact Mrs. Hobrecht

If you are planning to participate, you must email Mrs. Hobrecht for approval.

  • Adopt a planter or a pod (4-5 students)
  • Campus clean-up projects
  • School library volunteer
  • Help a teacher (not during academic learning time)
  • Help set up for a school event
  • Peer Tutoring
  • Tutoring Elementary Students
  • Help with Recycling Program
  • Help teachers around campus at DJAMS
COMMUNITY SERVICE

COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • Volunteer in a hospital/nursing home
  • Helping an Elementary school teacher including DJAES
  • Participate in a community event to help local Marines
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Volunteer at the local library 
  • Participate in a holiday parade
  • Work on church projects that benefit the needy or community
  • Read to a person who is vision-impaired
  • Volunteer at a soup kitchen, food bank, or food drive
  • Help at an animal shelter
  • Clean up the beach with the Surf Rider Foundation
  • Service project through Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts
Services and jobs that students are paid for may not be used for credit towards the Bronco Pride award. No Summer hours.
